“Imperfect but full of love and laughter.”
That line describes this family so well. As a Brighton family photographer, I could feel it from the moment we began their session. This was a season worth holding onto.

Megan and Paul chose to do a family session because their baby girl, their fourth child, was turning two. That milestone landed softly but firmly. Time had moved fast. Faster than expected.
Violet was no longer a newborn, but she was still so little. Their family had settled into a new rhythm. One that felt full and real. They wanted to pause and mark this moment before it slipped by.

Their home life feels busy in the best way. It is loud. It is imperfect. It is full of love and laughter. The kind that shows up in small, ordinary ways.
Declan is 11 and somehow balances basketball and art with being effortlessly cool. He still finds time to be the biggest goof. That mix is part of his magic.

Beckett and Maddox are all boy. They are endlessly competitive and bursting with energy. The kind of energy that fills a room and spills into the next one.

Violet is the baby. She is the joy-bringer. An independent little love bug who knows exactly how to steal the show.

This stage of life is made up of moments that feel small now but grow bigger with time.
Bedtime prayers.
Last-minute water requests.
One more hug before lights out.
The boys feeling so big.
Violet still feeling so little.
Those contrasts are everywhere right now, and coming from a Brighton Family Photographer- they matter.

Before the session, Megan and Paul felt excited to capture this phase. They also felt a little nervous. They described themselves as an awkward bunch.
That honesty is part of what made the session so good. Nothing needed to be forced. The session felt easy and natural, just like a normal day together.

One moment stood out. Violet really got into it. She gave kisses and hugs freely.
That kind of affection cannot be staged.
It happens when kids feel safe and seen.
It was one of those moments that will mean more and more as the years pass.

What makes this family unique is not hard to spot.
They love Jesus. They love serving others. They love the outdoors. And yes, they have a “butt load” of kids.
Their life is full, not just on the calendar, but in the heart. There is a strong sense of togetherness. A shared rhythm that carries them through busy days and quiet nights.

When Megan and Paul look back on these photos years from now, they hope to feel the love, laughter, and joy that make their family uniquely theirs.
Not perfection. Not a polished version of life. Just the real thing.
This session was memorable because it was honest. It showed who they are right now.
A family growing fast.
Kids changing by the day.
A baby stepping into toddlerhood.
Parents holding it all with grace and humor.

Thank you, Megan and Paul, for trusting me to capture this season. It was a gift to witness your love and the way you show up for each other.
If you are reading this and feeling that quiet nudge to pause and remember, listen to it.
